Event Details

It's a Halloween event like nothing you've ever experienced. Spirits, Shadows & Secrets returns for a third year on Oct. 30, 2010. Explore the mystical side of Arrow Rock in a tasteful, family-friendly event that has something for Halloween lovers of all ages. Wander through the village (or hitch a ride on the haywagon) to visit your choice of attractions that include:

  • Visits with the "spirits" of some of Arrow Rock's most famous (and infamous!) characters.
  • True (and almost true) tales woven by professional storytellers.
  • Presentations by real-life ghost hunters and paranormal experts.
  • S'mores around the campfire.
  • Candlelight tours of historic buildings.
  • Child-friendly activities at the Old Schoolhouse
  • Guided tours of the historic Sappington Cemetery (free Mo-X shuttle transportation will be provided)
  • The return (and expansion!) of the spooky, haunted trail
  • NEW THIS YEAR! The Spirits, Shadows & Secrets Jack-O-Lantern Contest. Bring your carved jack-o-lantern to the event and you could take home some nice prizes and a year's worth of bragging rights as a winner in one of these categories: Most Oustanding Jack-O-Lantern, Most Historical Jack-O-Lantern, Most Hysterical Jack-O-Lantern, Scariest Jack-O-Lantern and the Jack-O-Lantern Prodigy Prize (for children 12 and under). Winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m. on the Old Schoolhouse lawn. Click here for contest details and guidelines.
  • NEW THIS YEAR! An opportunity to participate in a real-life ghost hunt from 9 p.m. to midnight.
  • Plus lots of other fun surprises.
This year's ticket options include the Event-Only Pass, the Supper+Event Pass that includes event admission plus a delicious chicken dinner at the historic J. Huston Tavern, and the brand new Ghost Hunter's Pass, that entitles you to take part in a real-life ghost hunt with professional, T.A.P.S.-affiliated paranormal investigators from the Sedalia Ghost Hunters.

Supper + Event Passes and Ghost Hunter Passes must be purchased in advance (no later than Friday, Oct. 22). See pass descriptions for any limits and restrictions.

Tickets purchased online will be mailed within 5 days of purchase and will be accompanied by additional event details, parking instructions and "speed pass" wristbands that will allow this year's advance ticketholders to completely bypass the registration table!

Event-Only Pass (Adult)
$10

 Gives the ticketholder access to all Spirits, Shadows & Secrets events (6-9 p.m.) except the dinner seatings and entertainment at the J. Huston Tavern and the post-event Ghost Hunt.

Event-Only Pass (Child)
$7.50		 For ages 2-12. Children under 2 years old admitted free.

Also includes food and nonalcoholic beverages during the Ghost Hunt.  (Must be at least 14 years old. Under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.) Only 16 passes remain available for this extraordinary ghost-hunting experience!

Hungry Ghost Hunter's Pass
$90		 Includes VIP parking, a reservation for the 5 p.m. dinner seating at the J. Huston Tavern where you'll be entertained and educated by paranormal experts, admission to all Spirits, Shadows & Secrets activities from 6-9 p.m., plus participation in a professional paranormal investigation at the J.Huston Tavern from 9 p.m.-midnight. Also includes food and nonalcoholic beverages during the Ghost Hunt.  (Must be at least 14 years old. Under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.) Only 16 passes remain available for this extraordinary ghost-hunting experience!
